Description

A deliciously sweet chocolate almond toffee recipe that melts in your mouth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Flakey sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine cubed butter, sugar, vanilla, and coarse salt. Stir occasionally until the mixture is glossy and a deep amber color. (It will bubble up at first and look light and fluffy, just be patient.)
  3. Remove from the heat and pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  4. Working quickly before it hardens, sprinkle with sliced almonds. Let it sit for 2 minutes.
  5. Top with mini chocolate chips and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes until they melt, then spread the chocolate in an even layer, using an offset spatula.
  6. Sprinkle with the chopped pecans and sea salt (if using) before the chocolate hardens.
  7. Transfer to the fridge to harden and set.
  8. Crack into bite sized pieces and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure to work quickly when adding the toppings before the toffee hardens.
  • You can customize the toppings based on preference.
