Description
Delicious homemade heart-shaped fruit gummies made with real fruit juice and gelatin.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fruit juice (e.g., strawberry, raspberry, or cherry)
- 3 tablespoons gelatin powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust according to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup cornstarch or powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Mold: Lightly grease the heart-shaped molds with a small amount of oil to prevent sticking. Use a paper towel to spread evenly.
- Mix Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, pour in the fruit juice and sprinkle the gelatin powder over the top. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes to let the gelatin bloom.
- Heat the Mixture: Place the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin completely dissolves. Avoid boiling. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Sugar and Lemon Juice: Stir in the granulated sugar and lemon juice until fully dissolved and incorporated.
- Pour into Molds: Carefully pour the mixture into the prepared heart-shaped molds. Use a dropper or spoon for precision.
- Set the Gummies: Allow the gummies to cool at room temperature for 10 minutes. Then place the molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set completely.
- Dust and Serve: Once set, gently remove the gummies from the molds. Dust with cornstarch or powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
Notes
- Variations: Try using different fruit juices for a variety of flavors and colors.
- Sweetness Level: Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of the juice and personal preference.
- Storage: Store gummies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
- Vegan Option: Substitute gelatin with agar-agar for a vegetarian version. Follow package instructions for agar preparation as it varies from gelatin.
