Description

Deliciously grilled pineapple and crispy bacon elevate this burger to new heights!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 thick slices of fresh pineapple
  • 4 slices of cheese (Swiss or cheddar)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • Mayonnaise
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bacon: Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  2. Prepare the Pineapple: Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the pineapple slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until grill marks appear. Set aside.
  3. Make the Burger Patties: Shape the ground beef into four equal patties. Season with salt and pepper. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
  4. Grill the Patties: Grill the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  5. Assemble the Burger: Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute, if desired. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun. Place lettuce and a slice of tomato over the mayo. Add the cheese-topped burger patty, a grilled pineapple slice, and two slices of bacon. Top with some red onion slices. Drizzle with barbecue sauce. Place the top bun over everything.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the pineapple slices in a mix of honey and lime juice before grilling.
  • Experiment with different cheeses such as Gouda or pepper jack for a unique taste.
  • Use high-quality beef for juicier and more flavorful patties.
  • Allow the patties to rest for a couple of minutes after grilling for juicier burgers.
