Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream Layer: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue to whip until you reach stiff peaks. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Chocolate Pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until thickened. Follow the package instructions for exact mixing times. Set aside to let it firm up slightly.
  3. Assemble the Layers: In a rectangular dish, start by placing a single layer of graham crackers at the bottom. You might need to break them to fit. Spread half of the whipped cream mixture over the graham crackers evenly. Add another layer of graham crackers on top of the whipped cream. Spread the chocolate pudding evenly over the graham crackers. Add another layer of graham crackers on top of the pudding. Spread the remaining whipped cream over the graham crackers.
  4. Prepare the Chocolate Topping: Melt the chocolate chips with butter in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the top layer of whipped cream. Spread it evenly.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the layers to set up properly.
  6. Decorate: Before serving, sprinkle with chocolate chunks or shavings for decoration.
