Description

A delicious and creamy classic banana pudding dessert made with layers of bananas, vanilla wafers, and a rich pudding mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package of vanilla wafers
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (5 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container whipped topping (8 oz)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pudding Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla pudding mix until smooth and well combined.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
    • Allow the pudding mixture to sit for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  2. Layering the Dessert:
    • In a large glass or trifle dish, begin with a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of banana slices over the wafers.
    • Pour a layer of the prepared pudding mixture over the bananas.
    • Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with a layer of pudding.
  3. Topping:
    • Spread the whipped topping evenly over the top layer of pudding.
    • For decoration, arrange a few vanilla wafers and banana slices on top of the whipped topping.
  4. Chill:
    • Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid.
    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the pudding to firm up.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of banana liqueur to the pudding mixture.
  • To prevent the banana slices from browning, you can toss them in a little lemon juice before layering.
  • For a homemade touch, try making your own whipped cream instead of using store-bought whipped topping.
