Description
This Pineapple Dump Cake is an easy and delicious dessert that combines a box cake mix with pineapples and cherry pie filling for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box cake mix (we used pineapple cake mix)
- 1 can (20 oz) pineapple (crushed is best)
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1 stick butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup coconut (shredded, optional)
- 1/2 cup nuts (chopped, optional)
Instructions
- In a 13×9 pan, dump your can of pie filling on the bottom and spread out evenly (we used cherry).
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Sprinkle your cake mix on top of that evenly (we used pineapple cake mix, but yellow or white would be just fine if you can’t find it).
- Pour your can of crushed pineapple or pineapple tidbits on top evenly, including the juice.
- Melt your stick of butter and pour that evenly on top.
- Sprinkle your sweetened shredded coconut over that, then sprinkle with nuts (we used crushed honey roasted pecans).
- Put into your oven at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until the middle of your pineapple dump cake is lightly browned and looks like it is stiffening up.
- Allow to cool a bit and then scoop out. You could put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Notes
- This dessert can easily be customized with different flavors of cake mix or fruits.
- Best served warm with ice cream on top.
