Description
A deliciously cheesy and flavorful pull-apart bread perfect for parties or as an appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf sourdough bread
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 20–25 slices of pepperoni
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Bread: Place the loaf on a cutting board and slice it horizontally and vertically into 1-inch cubes, making sure not to cut all the way through to the bottom.
- Mix Toppings: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic, parsley, and Italian seasoning.
- Assemble the Bread:
- Use your fingers or a knife to spread the pieces apart and sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheese into the bread crevices.
- Insert pepperoni slices into the cracks of the bread.
- Add Butter Mixture: Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the top of the bread, ensuring that the garlic and herbs are well distributed.
- Wrap and Bake:
- Wrap the bread loosely with aluminum foil.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let the bread cool slightly before serving. Serve with marinara sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle some red pepper flakes on top before baking.
- Ensure all the cheese and pepperoni are evenly distributed for a consistent bite.
- If the bread gets too crispy, reduce the uncovered baking time by a few minutes.
- Experiment with additional toppings like olives or bell peppers for variation.
