Description

A delicious and hearty pasta dish featuring cheesy beef and crispy bacon for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g rotini pasta
  • 500g ground beef
  • 200g bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup pasta cooking water (reserved)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil rotini pasta according to the package instructions in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Leave the bacon grease in the skillet.
  3. Cook the Beef: In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Cook over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Sauté Vegetables: In the skillet, add olive oil if needed. Sauté the chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked bacon to the skillet with the beef and onion mixture. Add paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add Cheese and Cream: Lower the heat and mix in the heavy cream and reserved pasta water. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and combined.
  7. Mix with Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well-coated with the cheesy beef and bacon mixture.
  8. Serve: Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese or chopped herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Cheese Variations: For a different cheese flavor, try using mozzarella, gouda, or a cheese blend.
  • Herb Garnish: Fresh parsley or chives add a nice touch of freshness.
  • Vegetable Add-ins: You can add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • Spice: Add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
