Description
Delicious and crispy Cheesy Bacon Taquito Rolls perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 medium flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 8 slices)
- 1/4 cup chopped chives or green onions
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or a little olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, cooked bacon, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Assemble the Taquito Rolls:
- Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface.
- Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the cheese and bacon mixture onto the lower third of the tortilla.
- Tightly roll the tortilla, starting from the filled side, and place it seam-side down on a baking sheet.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Bake the Taquitos: Lightly spray the taquitos with cooking spray or brush lightly with olive oil to help them crisp up. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden and crispy.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve warm, garnished with extra chopped chives if desired.
Notes
- Crispier Rolls: For extra crispiness, you can pan-fry the taquito rolls in a little oil instead of baking them.
- Spice It Up: Add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cheese mixture for a spicy kick.
- Dipping Sauce: Serve with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole for dipping.
- Customization: Feel free to substitute the cheese with a blend of your favorites, such as Monterey Jack or mozzarella, for different flavors.
