- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup miso paste
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown, then let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and miso paste until combined.
- Add the browned butter, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Make sure to let the butter cool slightly to avoid cooking the eggs.
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
