Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding Mixture: In a bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk until thickened. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Make the Cake Batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. Mix in the sour cream and mashed bananas until combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Assemble the Cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Layer with half of the vanilla pudding mixture and some crushed vanilla wafers. Add the remaining cake batter on top and smooth the surface.
- Bake the Cake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate: Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle with whipped cream and garnish with whole vanilla wafers.
