Description

Disturbingly realistic Halloween cupcakes topped with edible worms crawling out of bloody frosting wounds.

Ingredients

  • Vanilla or chocolate cupcake batter
  • Buttercream frosting (base layer)
  • Fondant (for skin effect)
  • Red food gel (for blood effect)
  • Edible gummy worms (thin white ones)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Black food coloring (for worm details)
  • Corn syrup (for glossy finish)

Instructions

  1. Bake cupcakes at 350°F until set, then let cool.
  2. Spread a thin layer of buttercream on each cupcake.
  3. Roll out fondant and cover cupcakes, shaping it to look like stretched “skin.”
  4. Cut small slits and holes into the fondant to resemble wounds.
  5. Brush inside the cuts with red food gel for a bloody effect.
  6. Insert edible gummy worms into the slits so they appear to crawl out.
  7. Dab corn syrup for shine and finish with touches of black food coloring for added gore.

Notes

  • Ensure the fondant is rolled thinly for a realistic skin effect.
  • Use different colors of food gel for varied blood effects.
  • Store cupcakes in a cool place to maintain freshness.
