Description
Jumbo pasta shells filled with a creamy spinach and ricotta mixture, baked in rich tomato sauce and topped with cheese.
Ingredients
- Jumbo pasta shells
- Ricotta cheese
- Spinach (fresh or frozen)
- Mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- Marinara sauce
- Egg
- Garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Fresh basil (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook jumbo shells in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, sauté garlic and spinach in olive oil until wilted (if using frozen, just thaw and drain).
- Mix ricotta, spinach, Parmesan, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl for filling.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish or skillet.
- Stuff each shell with ricotta-spinach filling and arrange over the sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and extra Parmesan on top.
- Bake 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden; garnish with basil before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, ensure the marinara sauce is meat-free.
- Feel free to add other herbs like oregano or thyme for extra flavor.
- Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
