Description
A delicious homemade pear syrup that can be used on oatmeal or as a topping for desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pears (cored and cut into chunks, no need to peel)
- 1 cup white sugar (200g)
- 1 cup water (240g)
Instructions
- Core and chop the pears. No need to peel them.
- Add all ingredients to a pot and bring to the boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl and pour in the mixture to remove the pear pieces (save them and serve on oatmeal for a treat!).
- Pour into a bottle or jar and store in the refrigerator once completely cooled.
Notes
- The pear syrup will thicken further once cool.
