Description

A delicious homemade pear syrup that can be used on oatmeal or as a topping for desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pears (cored and cut into chunks, no need to peel)
  • 1 cup white sugar (200g)
  • 1 cup water (240g)

Instructions

  1. Core and chop the pears. No need to peel them.
  2. Add all ingredients to a pot and bring to the boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
  5. Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl and pour in the mixture to remove the pear pieces (save them and serve on oatmeal for a treat!).
  6. Pour into a bottle or jar and store in the refrigerator once completely cooled.

Notes

  • The pear syrup will thicken further once cool.
