Mini Mummy Hand Pies are adorable and delicious treats perfect for Halloween, featuring a flaky pastry filled with sweet jam and decorated to look like mummies.
Ingredients
- Puff pastry sheets – 2
- Strawberry or raspberry jam – ½ cup
- Egg – 1 (for egg wash)
- Candy eyes – 16
- Sugar – 2 tbsp (for sprinkling)
- Flour (for dusting)

Instructions
- Prep pastry: Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles (about 3×4 inches each).
- Add filling: Spoon a tablespoon of jam into the center of half the rectangles.
- Make bandages: Slice thin strips into the remaining rectangles to form mummy “wrappings.”
- Assemble: Place the cut pastry over the jam-filled one, seal edges with a fork, and brush with egg wash.
- Bake: Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 375°F for 18–20 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Add eyes: Press candy eyes onto the tops while still warm (use a tiny dab of icing or jam as glue).
- Serve: Sweet, flaky, and frightfully cute for Halloween parties!
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, consider adding cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
- Ensure the edges are well sealed to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
- These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
