Ingredients

  • Matcha powder – 2 tbsp
  • Sugar – ¼ cup
  • Yeast – 2 tsp
  • Butter – 3 tbsp (softened)
  • Milk – ¾ cup (warm)
  • Egg – 1 large
  • White chocolate – 1 cup (melted with 1 tsp matcha for filling squares)
  • Whipped cream – 1 ½ cups (for sandwich filling)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, matcha, milk, egg, and butter to form a soft dough; knead until smooth and elastic.
  2. Let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  3. Prepare cookie crust: mix ½ cup flour, ¼ cup sugar, 2 tbsp butter, and 1 tbsp matcha into a crumbly dough. Roll out and cover bread portions, scoring crisscross patterns.
  4. Bake rolls 15–18 minutes until puffed and lightly crisp. Cool completely.
  5. Melt white chocolate with matcha, pour into molds or squares, and chill to set.
