Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of rustic or sourdough bread
  • 200g mushrooms (sliced)
  • 100g cheese (Gruyère, mozzarella, or Swiss)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh thyme (to taste)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and place bread slices on a baking sheet.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet, then sauté garlic and mushrooms until golden and tender.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  4. Spoon mushroom mixture onto bread slices.
  5. Top with cheese and bake for 8–10 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh thyme.
  7. Serve warm as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the mushroom mixture.
