- 3 cups prepared mac and cheese (cooled)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Scoop cooled mac and cheese into balls; freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Set up breading station: flour, whisked eggs, and panko mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Roll each mac ball in flour, dip in egg, then coat in seasoned panko.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.
- Fry balls in batches until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with extra Parmesan.
- Serve hot with ranch, marinara, or spicy dipping sauce.
Notes
- Make sure the mac and cheese is completely cooled before forming balls.
- Freezing the balls helps them hold their shape while frying.
- Adjust seasoning according to your taste preference.
