Ingredients
- Puff pastry sheets

- Powdered sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet.
- Roll out puff pastry sheets, cut into rectangles, and brush lightly with egg wash.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and crisp. Let cool completely.
- In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolk over medium heat until thickened. Stir in vanilla. Cool, then fold in whipped cream for a light filling.
- Spread cream between pastry layers to form a stack.
- Top with a final pastry layer and dust generously with powdered sugar.
- Chill briefly before slicing and serving.

- For a richer flavor, use vanilla bean instead of extract.
