Ingredients

- 1 loaf of bread (Italian or French)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and place bread loaf on a baking sheet.
- Slice bread diagonally into a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Melt butter with garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper, then brush generously into the cuts.
- Stuff mozzarella and Parmesan shreds into the sliced gaps.
- Wrap loaf lightly in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Uncover and bake an additional 3–5 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley, slice apart, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs like oregano or basil to the garlic butter.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
- Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
