Description

A delicious and comforting Cheesy Patty Melt Sandwich made with seasoned beef and gooey melted cheese between golden buttery bread.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 4 slices sourdough or rye bread
  • 4 slices American or cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ small onion (thinly sliced, optional)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet and cook ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until browned; set aside.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  3. Place bread (butter-side down) in the skillet, add cheese, cooked beef, and more cheese, then top with another bread slice.
  4. Cook on medium heat until golden brown and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  5. Press gently with a spatula to melt cheese fully.
  6. Repeat with the second sandwich.
  7. Slice diagonally and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add thinly sliced onions to the beef while cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of cheese based on your preference.
  • Serve with pickles or a side salad for a complete meal.
