Instructions
- Mix mochiko, milk, and sugar in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
- Microwave for 1 minute intervals, stirring until thick and sticky. Add butter and mix.
- Dust a surface with cornstarch and knead the mochi gently until pliable.
- Divide dough into portions; shape into balls and flatten slightly.
- Place a small spoonful of filling in the center, wrap and seal.
- Use chocolate dots and small mochi pieces to form ears and bear faces.
- Chill for 15 minutes before serving for best texture.
Notes
- For a brown mochi variation, add cocoa powder or food coloring to the dough.
- Ensure the filling is not too hot when placing it in the mochi.
