Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla; combine with dry ingredients.
- Divide batter into portions and mix different add-ins into each (e.g., chocolate chips, blueberries, nuts).
- Fill liners ¾ full and sprinkle with coarse sugar for a bakery-style top.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly, then serve warm with butter or jam.
